Welcome back I’m glad you decided to continue the conversation with me. In the last blog I talked about some of the things that could go wrong and how to make being an entrepreneur work, but today I want to give you tips on how to be aware of the things that could potentially happen and how to avoid these things.
Tip 1: Have a plan.
A lot of times as entrepreneurs we have a goal that we want we have a job that we want we have a career that we want but there’s never any time set aside to plan the career out to plan your business out in writing. I can’t stress enough about writing out everything that you want, setting goals for your self and your company, and actually reaching them.
Tip 2: Asking for help.
Asking for help has been one of the major issues that I’ve come across an entrepreneur. Most of the time you want to do things yourself, you want to make the business work like you wanted to work, or you don’t want anyone’s outside opinion that would contradict anything that you are trying to do for your business.
That is a mistake, yes, in the beginning, you can be very silent, keep your cards close to your chest, but when it comes to running your business, you don’t know everything. So it’s smart or good business to reach out to someone who's been there and done it, and who’s going to give you solid information. So do your research.
Tip 3: Do the research!
I can’t tell you how often as entrepreneurs we skip this step. We allow our excitement to start a company to overtake researching the proper steps, the proper paperwork, or the proper things that we need to actually make our business run and be successful and maintaining a goal-oriented company that you are proud of.
Take the time you need to write out a business plan, see your vision in writing. know where you want to go so that way when it’s time you’re not looking all around for answers when you didn’t even start at the beginning. So know what you want, see what you want, and achieve what you want.
Tip 4: Be confident.
Be confident in your decision making and what you want. Don’t let anyone distract you from your ultimate goal of being an entrepreneur or on your journey of entrepreneurship. There are going to be naysayers, so that’s why it’s important for you to know what you want and how you’re going to get there. Take your time, your business is not going anywhere. Do the work, be the best at what you are giving your client. Don’t overpromise and under deliver.
Tip 5: Take risks
Don’t be afraid to take risks with your company. Many time we miss opportunities to further our business because we are afraid of losing. Don’t become stagnant because your afraid of starting a business itself is a risk. Be smart, take the risk, and if it doesn’t work out, it’s not the need of the world. Learn from your mistake and keep moving forward.
Tip 6: Have fun!
Have fun doing what it is that you love to do. The worst thing you can do is, to do something that you’re miserable in. Enjoy the ride, you don’t want to look back over your time as an entrepreneur and say “I was completely miserable”. Stay focused, stay goal oriented, but most importantly have fun!
These are all the tips that I have for you. These are some of the things that I have learned along the way, and some of the things that I’m still learning today. With these tips take your time, plan your business out, go for what you know, do your research, and I promise you success will meet you!
